Jeff's Autographs and Thoughts

I moved to the Rio Grande Valley 4 years ago this past May. I had collected autographs on and off since I was 7 years old, and with the lack of social life I have here; I've picked it back up again and made many great online friends and picked up quite a few new 'graphs in the process. This blog is meant to both share my successes/failures and if its important, what's on my mind.

Cookies are a sometimes food?????

Growing up, I loved watching Sesame Street. I learned a lot. I got in touch with the characters, especially "Grover!" I looked up to Bob and Maria. And loved the idea of being able to pig out on cookies like Cookie Monster. But, I've said for years now that "politically correct" was getting out of control and when Cookie Monster's cookies became a "sometimes food", enough was enough. The whole essence of Cookie Monster was the fantasy of pigging out on cookies. Even as a child I knew that you're not supposed to chow down on gobs of cookies, but it was fun, it was fantasy, it was escape, and I am saddened that political correctness has made its way to children's fantasy TV. Sigh. I was glad to get this autographed photo from Bob McGrath and I hope Sesame Street comes to its senses and lets kids imagine their happy place once more!
